Role: Art Direction and Set Design

Within the set I wanted to give stage to the person talking, I wanted him to be centered and in a safe space, sort of embraced by the material around him. Together with Noukhey Foster, we thought about giving the space natural elements: water, reflection, transparency and sand. I wanted to bring the reflection back, the refleciton on self, career, past and future. Giving space to talk in a balanced and natural surrounding. 

A series of video portraits portraying black male fashion professionals. These are black men with a professional career in the fashion industry. 8-10 video portraits are made in which the viewer gets to know the professionals and their place in the industry. The participants are asked about their career, personal life and future plans. We take a critical look at the current status of the black man in fashion and ask them to speak out about their hope for the future. The selection consists of professionals working in various disciplines in the fashion industry including fashion entrepreneurs, designers, stylists, photographers and other creatives.
